Writing SEO friendly blog posts requires an element of skill as you need to have a fine balance of being creative and engaging to the reader whilst also constructing SEO friendly content utilising keywords and phrases without over stuffing.
There are some core areas to consider before you start:
What do you want to tell your readers
Spend a bit of time thinking about what you want to write about and keep it relevant to your blog post. If it is about dogs then no need to write about cats.
Have a clear structure for your post
Start with a clear introduction, a well constructed post and a conclusion
Use clear headings and paragraphs
Make sure to use clear headings and concise paragraphs that easily lead your reader through your post rather than mashing it all together.
Make your post flow with transition words
Transition words help people scan through your text and understand the relationship between sentences and paragraphs. If you have three points you wish to cover use words like firstly, secondly and lastly
Optimise the length of your post
Keep it to a minimum of 300+ words. The big “G” likes big posts but be warned that readers can be put off with massively long posts so bare point 1 in mind.
Research your keywords
You obviously want people to find and read your articles so Google your subject matter and see what is coming up in the search engine results (SERPs)
Link internally and externally
Whilst we all like it is all about me, me, me the internet was and still is meant to be a never ending journey so use on-page SEO and off-page SEO best practices. Like us linking to DesignRush.
Proof read your post
Let’s get real here, we are not all out there to win Nobel Prizes for Literature but spend a bit of time casting your eye over what you have written because if you are trying to express your knowledge of something you don’t want it littered with spelling mistakes.
Update your post with more relevant information
Thankfully the World keeps turning and new trends replace old ones so make sure you update your articles if things change. Google loves fresh content (and so do readers) so revisit your posts on a regular basis
Use an SEO plugin like All in One SEO, Yoast or Rank Math SEO and check your analytics

So what next?
If you follow these tips then we believe you should bring relevance to your website and attract visitors who will hopefully return on a regular basis and tell others about your content.
